Well then-- Where to start. My first day train-spotting? That was Jubilee
week in 1977- Taunton station. I was 13 and rebelling about being on holiday
with the family. My two best friends, Rolf and Nod had been talking me into
sampling the joys of spotting for a while. I had bought the 1977 'Ian Allen
Locoshed' book- which was blue with a monochrome hst on the cover earlier in the
week, and not possessing a note book i was filling it in as soon as a saw a
train- However, something was going wrong--- there were two sorts of train whose
numbers started '50'- pesky dmus and beautiful '50's' and i'd got it wrong in my
beautiful new book. Most 'Gricers' hate units- but i've got a reason ;)
I'm hoping to use this site as an excuse to get out with the camera more. I'm
an enthusiastic rather than talented camera op, but will be installing a photo
gallery within this site soon-
Meanwhile

me being nearly run down by a mail train in Crewe!
Finally: After this blog, the next few pages published are going to be some
links, and some of my existing galleries in a new 'spotter friendly' home.
However before i go i must just mention the site who actually got me
fired up enough to make a start.

This was the first sight i found- and the poor man has a photo of me on the
site- a pint to anyone who finds it :) I live in Chester, and this site seems to
be based around Shrewsbury.
